Rare beauty has been on my list of brands to try ever since it launched, so I’m so excited to be able to review their spring 2021 collection – Stay Vulnerable. This collection consists of four items a blush, liquid eyeshadow, lip gloss, and eyeshadow brush.
This blush is a liquid-like cream blush that melts into your skin to give you a natural flush. It comes in 5 different shades. I tried Nearly Mauve and it was the perfect color for me. My first impression was it is very pigmented, I swirled my finger in the product a few times and it was way too much product. This definitely is a little goes a long way kind of product. The color looked super natural and lasted all day. I also love the packaging, it is a super cute pink round compact and I love that it is magnetic!
This is one of the best lip gloss formulas I have ever tried. I don’t know how they did it but this gloss feels like I’m wearing my Laneige lip mask and it isn’t sticky at all. If you have dry lips I think you’ll love this formula. I have the shade “Nearly Berry” it looks really pigmented in the tube but it goes on pretty sheer, even though it is sheer it still gives you color on your lips. I need every shade in this gloss!
Out of the collection, this is probably my least favorite product. I find that this seems to go a little patchy on my eyes and it doesn’t last all day. For $20 I feel like you could get a good eyeshadow palette instead of a single shadow. When I’ve worn this it’s the only shade I use and I blend it over my whole eyelid. I love the way it looks I just have a hard time getting it not to be patchy. The formula is a weightless liquid-to-powder eyeshadow, it definitely does dry down to a powder pretty quick so you have to work fast. I have the shade Nearly Berry and it is a beautiful color, I don’t have a shadow like this so I’m glad I have it in my collection but I would recommend the blush or the lip gloss over the eyeshadow.
This is a super unique eyeshadow brush, I don’t have any like this in my collection. It is meant to be able to be used to complete your whole eye look. It is fluffy enough that you can blend your shadows but firm enough that you have control. The shape of the brush is meant to mimic your finger. This definitely isn’t a necessity but I do think it is a nice eyeshadow brush, and it is a smaller brush so it would make a great makeup brush to travel with since it’s an all-in-one kind of brush.
I think this Rare Beauty launch is such a great one. I’ve loved each product and I have started using these in my daily makeup routine. I can’t wait to try more of the products in the line!
