My 2021 Favorites

I’m back with my yearly favorites blog post! This is one of my favorite blog posts to write. I love looking back at all the new products I tried during the year and seeing what worked and what didn’t. This year is all beauty related, and let me tell you I found some gems this year!

Glow Recipe Dew Drops | $34

I feel like I’m a broken record because I talk about this so much, but this is probably one of my favorite products that came out in 2021. I have multiple bottles because I love this so much! This product is technically a Niacinamide serum but I use this is so many other ways. One of my favorites is to mix this in with my foundation and it gives it the most beautiful dewy finish and makes your foundation look so much more natural. You can also use it on top of makeup as a natural looking highlighter. I think the concept of this product is so unique and I love how many ways you can use it! Not to mention it smells like a jolly rancher! I can’t recommend this product enough. If you want to hear more about this product you can check out this YouTube video.

Nécessaire The Body Oil | $35

I feel like in 2021 I saw every single person posting about this brand so I was really intrigued but the prices made me a little hesitant. So I ended up testing out their body oil and I fell in love with it. It is really hydrating and one of my favorite parts is it doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. Which in my opinion is really hard to find with an oil.

This is an organic oil made with Sweet Almond Oil, Hazelnut Seed Oil, and Macadamia Seed Oil that helps give your skin essential minerals and vitamins to keep your skin hydrated. It is also great for people with skin sensitivity because it is fragrance free!

If you’re like me and you’re a little hesitant to spend the money on these products this is a great one to start with because it comes with a lot of product and you’re getting an extremely high quality body oil.

Merit Shade Slick Lip Oils | $24

I can’t even begin to tell you about my obsession with these lip oils. I always have one of these on me at all times, I have never tried a lip formula that is so hydrating and lightweight but gives such beautiful color at the same time. For their A/W 2021 launch they came out with 4 new shades, I love how Merit goes about their launches. They don’t just launch products to launch. You can tell a lot of thought goes into each product they come out with. I have found myself reaching for the A/W shades so much this season because of how unique the colors. My two favorites out of all of their shades are Taupe (a neutral brown) and Cara Cara (a soft red orange) I have most of their shade slick shades and they really filled in a lot gaps of colors I was missing in my lip collection.

This is the last week to get the limited edition packaging for the A/W 2021 and at a bundled price so make sure you grab it here!

If you’re curious about merit you can find my full brand review here or on my YouTube channel.

Dermalogica Microfoliant Exfoliator |$59

This is a newer product I’ve been testing out. I found it from Delany Childs on instagram and she has the most beautiful skin so I had to test it out! And let me tell it it lives up to the hype. It is different from any skincare product I have tried before. It is a powder that you mix with water and then apply it to your skin. I don’t like using physical scrubs on my face, I feel that they are too harsh but this is the complete opposite. It makes your skin feel so clean and soft but without being to rough on your skin. It  is made with rice powder to help smooth your skins texture and clears clogged pores. And not to mention it is gentle enough for everyday use!

I am someone that struggles with acne and I have found that this reduces the amount of breakouts I get tremendously as well as when I do have breakouts they go away a lot faster. If you struggle with acne prone skin I would highly recommend testing this out! It is a little on the pricey side but I find that this is so worth the price!

You can also buy a refill pack when you run out and it is a little cheaper!

Bali Body Gradual Face Tan | $32.95

If you have followed me for awhile you know I am obsessed with Bali Body. They put out so many amazing products in 2021 but their gradual face tan has been the one I’ve reached for the most! I love this product so much because it is one of the easiest tanning products to use because it just replaces your daily moisturizer! This is an extremely hydrating face cream that has Aloe Vera Extract, Cacao Butter, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and Natural DHA.

I use this a few times a week at night and it gives me a beautiful natural looking glow! If you want to read my full review on the Bali Body Gradual Face Tan you can read my blog post here.

PMD Clean Pro Jade | $179

I was always an avid Clarisonic user and I was so sad when they went out of business. It took me so long to find a replacement, but I finally found one that I love even more! It is the PMD Clean Pro. There’s a few reasons why I love this more than my Clarisonic, the main reason is that you don’t have to buy replacement heads! So you make the initial purchase and you never have to buy anything else to use it! Since it is silicone it doesn’t hold onto bacteria and you can clean the head after each use. Another reason why I love it more is this one has a Jade stone on the other side that heats up and is used for facial massage. It has four different vibrating settings, the first two are for when you are washing your face and the second two are for the massage.

If you were like me and you loved your Clarisonic definitely look into the PMD Clean Pro! It is an expensive purchase but I love that you don’t have to buy replacement brushes, so it ends up saving you money in the end!

Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen | $36

As you can tell I have a theme of dewy skin this year. This is by far the best sunscreen I have ever tried. I use this mostly when I’m not applying any makeup because it gives my skin the most beautiful glow. This does give a similar finish to the Glow recipe Dew Drops I talked about but I usually only use those when I’m wearing makeup so I can mix it in to my foundation. I use this on no makeup days because it gives you your sunscreen and dewy glow all in one!

It is very hydrating and also doubles as a makeup primer. If you have oily skin I know they have other versions of this product to fit all different skin types! I also wanted to add that it hasn’t irritated my acne prone skin at all!

Makeup Erasers | $25

Makeup Erasers have honestly changed my life. They have made getting ready for bed so easy and my skin has never felt so clean! These things are honestly magic because they get off every bit of makeup off your skin! This is what I use as the first step in my skincare routine, you get the towel wet and use it on dry skin and it takes your makeup right off! I then will go in with my PMD Clean and cleanser and my skin feels so clean!

I always felt that these were so expensive and unnecessary but boy was I wrong. You can buy the big towel for about $20 but my favorites are the packs of 7 ($25) that have the smaller ones. They are about the same price as the big ones but you get a lot more for your money. I find myself hardly ever reaching for my big makeup eraser just because it is way bigger than I need. The smaller size is more than big enough to take off an entire face of makeup. You just throw these in with your laundry and they clean so well!

Slip Silk Hair Ties | $39

Back in 2019 I had featured the Slip Silk Pillowcase in my yearly favorites post, which is still my favorite pillowcase to this day. I have been using their silk scrunchies since 2020 and I never leave the house without one! They are made using the same silk as the pillowcases. I love them so much because they don’t pull on my hair at all while it is in a ponytail! I’ve even gotten my husband hooked on these!

You can get them in a large size, which is a bigger scrunchie or the small ones, which are skinner. I usually prefer using the small scrunchies because they aren’t as noticeable when I have my hair up!

Those are my most used products from 2021! These are my favorite blog posts to write, I look forward to it every year! I love looking back at the year and seeing what products worked and didn’t work. I usually end up remembering some hidden gems going back through my vanity & my older blog posts! Let me know what your favorite products are that you discovered this year in the comments!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season and has the best 2022!!
