I know I’m not the only one that has seen everyone on instagram raving about Merit. To me they are the more chic Glossier. I love their sleek packaging and their less is more makeup. Since I’ve seen so many people talking about their products I wanted to do a full brand review! So if you have been wondering about Merit you’ve come to the right place!

Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick | $38
This product is meant to replace your foundation and concealer, it’s a two in one kind of product. It gives you a lightweight, medium coverage.
To preface this I am usually a full coverage foundation kind of girl, if I’m going to put face makeup on I want it to cover everything so I was a little nervous about this one. But I was genuinely so surprised by how much I liked this! I’ve been using shade Cream which is for fair skin with warm undertones. Personally, I thought I was shade Dune which is a little darker but they were all out of stock so I ended up going with Cream. I truly think since this is such a lightweight product there’s a little give with the shades.
I have never owned a foundation stick before so I was excited to add one to my collection. This product blends into your skin like a dream, I found that blending it with a sponge is the best way to do it. It gives you pretty decent coverage with one layer but I usually go back in to my problem areas to add one more layer.
Personally I think this is a little expensive for what it is, $38 is how much my favorite full coverage foundations are. So I have a hard time spending that much for a more natural product. But with that said I absolutely love this for quick everyday makeup. I love having something different than my other foundations in my collection! If you are someone that likes a more natural product, you are going to love this!
Flush Balm Cream Blush | $28
I have to start out talking about the packaging of this blush! I love how they made it with a rounded top, because it makes it so easy to apply straight to your skin! I’ve been testing out shade Cheeky, which is a cool pink. They have 5 different shades to choose from.
I have heard many mixed reviews about this blush. I have heard people say there’s no color once it’s applied. But I have the complete opposite opinion. I think it might vary on the shade, because with Cheeky it was the most beautiful shade! It is definitely a buildable blush, which I would rather have.
I applied this straight on top of the completion stick and the foundation didn’t budge and the blush blended right into my skin!
Day Glow Highlighting Balm | $30
I love when brands come out with a new twist on popular products, because sometimes I feel like how many highlighters do I need in my vanity? But I feel like Merit does so well with filling in the gaps of what is missing from my collection. This highlighter is so unique because it is made without any sparkle. This is a translucent highlighter that gives your skin a dewy sheen without any glitter!
They currently have two shades, I have shade Cava which is a champagne highlighter. Just like the blush this does not move your makeup at all when you apply it. I love using this on no makeup days to give my skin a natural looking glow. If you like having that natural dewy look you are going to be obsessed with this product! This is one of my personal favorites from their line!
1980 Eyebrow Pomade | $24
Their brow gel comes in 3 shades – Blonde, Brown, and Black Brown. I went with shade brown, and the color worked great with my dark brown brows. This is a tinted, flexible pomade to help shape your brows and keep them in place.
This brow gel was pretty decent, it gave a light tint to my brows but I just found it didn’t hold the shape very long. I still went in and filled in my brows before using this. I just wish it would hold the shape longer. In my opinion this brow gel was nothing special, for $24 I feel like you can get a product that will hold a lot better. Right now my personal fav is the Charolette Tilbury Clear Brow Gel.
Overall it’s not bad but its not the best, I think this is something you can live without in your routine. If you already have a brow gel you love I would stick with that one!
Clean Lash Mascara | $26
This is one of the most beautiful mascaras I have ever owned. If you can’t tell I’m a sucker for packaging lol. But not only is the packaging great the actual mascara is amazing! This is a lengthening mascara that really separates your lashes. I love that this mascara has a fluffier, fuller brush because it really gets in there and coats every single lash. I have found that this really does lengthen my lashes and it lasts all day without smudging or flaking. Right now this only comes in black, I would love to have this formula in brown!
Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil | $24
I have to start out by saying this is THE BEST lip gloss I have ever used in my life! I have five of the seven shades if that tells you anything. This applies like a moisturizing oil but looks like a gloss on your lips. And not to mention they have the most beautiful shades! Right now I am beyond obsessed with their A/W 2021 launch, where they came out with 4 new lip oil shades. One of my favorite things about Merit is how intentional they are with their launches, they don’t launch just to launch a product. You can tell how much thought and effort went into this launch.
Their A/W 2021 collection contains the shades
– Bel Air – A warm golden clear gloss
– Taupe – A neutral brown
– Cara Cara – A soft red orange (can’t wait to wear this during the holidays)
– Falcon – A deep brown
You can also get their limited edition boxed set at a discounted rate here
Along with their new shades I have also been using the shade Pink Beet, which is a cool pink. This really is the perfect light pink shade. What makes these so amazing to me is these actually have pigment and add color to your lips. For such a lightweight lip product I’m so shocked with how pigmented they are without being sticky!
Overall Thoughts
I really am so impressed with these products from Merit! I think they really filled in a lot of gaps with products that were missing from my collection. You really can do a quick five minute makeup look with these and have a full face of makeup! If you were going to try anything from Merit I would recommend testing out their highlighter, mascara, and their shade slicks!
Let me know if you have any other brands you want me to test out! I will have a full face try on of these products up on my YouTube channel in the next few days. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
