I recently found Axiology on Instagram and they are the coolest brand! They are a brand that makes cruelty-free, vegan lip products. The Balmies are 100% zero waste and cruelty-free. They were kind enough to send me a few of their products to try out and I love them so much I wanted to share them with you!
A little bit about the brand, all of their lipsticks are cruelty-free, (PETA certified) they are completely vegan which means there are no bugs in your red lipsticks, and their formula is 100% palm-oil free! Their boxes are made by a woman-owned factory in Bali that uses recycled paper to create the boxes. You can read more about it here
I love how short their ingredient list is, and it’s a list you can actually read and know exactly what the ingredients are! They use avocado, castor, and coconut oil which are all super moisturizing. They also don’t use any synthetic fragrances, instead, they use orange essential oil which makes these the best smelling lipsticks I have ever used! I love knowing that so much thought goes into every ingredient they use!
The Lip to-Lid-balmies are full of oils and butters to help heal and hydrate your skin. I tried out the Cotton Candy Skies Balmies. The set came with three different colors.
Champagne – a shimmery golden shade perfect for the inner corner, eyelid, and highlighter.
Sorbet – a cool tone powder pink perfect for blush and lipstick.
Rose – Frosted rose color, perfect for eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick.
The coolest thing about the Lip to Lid Balmies is they are 100% zero waste! The packaging is completely recyclable!! The product itself does seem a little small compared to your typical lipstick but since there is no packaging they actually are the same size as a normal lipstick. (.12 oz)
These Balmies are so easy to use and can replace so many steps in your makeup routine! I love using Rose in my crease, Champagne in the inner corner, and on my lid and cheekbone, I love mixing rose and sorbet on my lips. I blend it all with my fingers and it literally takes 2 minutes to apply all of those and I have an almost complete makeup look!
I’ve only tried one shade of their natural lipsticks but I can’t wait to try more. I tried the shade “Joy” which is a plum mauve color. This is one of the most comfortable lipsticks when you’re wearing it. It feels like a hydrating chapstick. You don’t feel like you’re wearing lipstick at all. You can apply one coat for a lighter color or more coats for a bolder color. I love how you can build up the shade.
The lipstick is made with only 10 ingredients like coconut and avocado oil and kokum butter. The tube is made with post-consumer recycled plastic and the boxes are made by women in Bali.
I love finding small businesses in the beauty world to support because I love getting to see someone make their dreams come true and make a difference in the community! What are some of your favorite small makeup businesses?
